What to Wear
When it comes to portraits, what you choose to wear is almost as important as all the other details that go into making a great image (lighting, location, weather, etc.). Sometimes picking out an outfit can be extremely stressful and overwhelming (trust me, I still struggle with this sometimes!), but let me help!! Here are some tips on what to wear when it comes to your portrait session:
Wear solid color clothing and keep patterned clothing to a minimum!
Choose muted tones - simple is best!
Choose 1 to 3 colors for your group portraits, ones with similar tones that complement each other and have everyone work with that color pallet
Choose a top with sleeves that go at least down to your elbow
Keep jewelry simple and minimal
Incorporate your own style & have fun with it!!!
What to Bring
Everyone is different in their own way and everyone has their own story. Let me help tell yours! I love tailoring my sessions to each individual, so if there is something near and dear to your heart, bring it with! Maybe you have a guitar that you’ve had since you were 11 years old that you treasure, or you have a super AWESOME decorative chair that you’ve always dreamed of having pictures with; bring them along!!! Over the years, I’ve had clients bring cute blankets, props, signs, the lot! Nothing is out of scope when it comes to your special portraits! Side note - I will also never say no to a session with your adorable pupper. ;)
